Our spring event this year will be hosted by John Hornby Skewes. JHS is a truly international company, representing over seventy industry leading distributed brands across the UK/ROI, the European Union, USA and beyond. By working closely over recent years with a number of industry renowned builders, designers and master craftsmen, JHS brands have won accolades, awards and praise across the board for products that are bursting with professional features and specification, punching well above their often modest price tags.
Brass repairer Mark Chandler has been doing precision machining since the mid-1980s. Having a full machine shop Mark is able to take on many additional projects, for instance the restoration of a vintage brass chandelier, a vintage Jaguar radiator grill and making specialist parts for vintage and cars and motorcycles. Mark will give a short lathe machining presentation with questions and answers after. His talk may include things like hitting a specific diameter with precision, internal and external threading, safety when filing on a lathe, pressure turning, lapping and holding mouthpieces and other tricky items in a lathe.
Euan Meikle is the UK sales manager at Buffet Crampon and former band and orchestral sales representative at Yamaha Music Global. He started his career as a brass and woodwind repair tech in 2014. He is opening up the floor for us to question him on Buffet and Besson so is there something you would like to ask him?
