FAQs

Why Choose a NAMIR repairer?

All NAMIR members agree to abide by our code of ethics . In addition, professional members are required to provide evidence of their skills, training and workshop facilities on application to demonstrate they are able to offer professional-quality musical instrument repair services.

How much will a service/repair cost?

NAMIR members run their own businesses and therefore prices will vary. Please contact your repairer directly to discuss your needs. Generally they will not be able to give an accurate costing until they have been able to assess your instrument.

How do I find a local NAMIR repairer?

Should I choose a new or second hand instrument?

Can I rent an instrument?

Yes you can – some NAMIR members offer this as a service or they can guide you to rental options. There is also more information available in the Customer Hub.

How do I complain about a NAMIR member?

If you are not satisfied with the service you have received from a NAMIR member you should talk to them as they will be keen to resolve the issue for you. NAMIR is not a governing body and as such we urge you to discuss your concerns with your repairer directly wherever possible. The vast majority will be more than willing to reach a resolution with you.
