Membership

There are two types of membership:

Subscriber

Subscriber membership is suitable for all those who have an interest in NAMIR and would like to support its aims as an organisation. This could include, but is not limited to:

  1. Students/repairers in training 
  2. Repairers who do not meet the requirements or do not wish to apply for professional membership
  3. Retired members
  4. Representatives from businesses linked to the musical instrument repair trade 
  5. Training Organisations and Colleges  
  6. General supporters of the organisation

Professional

Professional membership is suitable for those who have the skill, experience and facilities required to offer professional-quality musical instrument repair services on a commercial basis. 

Professional membership applications are subject to enhanced checks.  You will be required to provide evidence of your skills, training and workshop facilities, along with details of two referees upon application. Applicants may also be asked to welcome a committee member to view their workshop.

Applications are considered by a sub-committee three times each year in January, May and September. The submission deadline for applications to be considered is the 1st day of the relevant month, with a decsion expected at the end of the month. Applications received after this date will not be considered until the following session.

Membership Fees

  1. Subscriber £40.00 per annum, discounted to £17.50 for retired members and up to 5 years for students in training
  2. Professional £50.00 per annum

New Members

Membership runs from 1st October each year.  New members joining part way through a year may be eligible for a reduction in their fees for the first year.
